This is the blog of Jonathan Tullett: father, iconoclast, occasional geek.

I use this space to write about many issues – health and child rearing (I have one son, Zachary, he’s four) are frequent themes, but work, self-improvement and humourous posts feature heavily too. the author A colleague once commented, ‘If the banking system was as transparent as you are, Jonathan, we wouldn’t be in the financial mess we are in!’ I took that as a compliment.

I’ve just turned the corner of having spent 30 years on this planet and I live in Orpington, Kent with a couple of snakes to keep me company; carpet pythons, if you’re interested. My son resides with his mother most of the time, but we get to hang out alternate weekends and get up to mischief.

As my ‘9-5′ (more like 6-6 though), I work for an high frequency trading company where I ensure smooth operation of their algorithmic trading platform. I also provide trouble shooting expertise when others in my team are unable to resolve issues or if they wish to discuss ideas. This work keeps the roof over my head and food on the table.

Outside of those hours, I run the consultancy, development and outsourcing business, DDA Systems. This company has been running since 1999, allowing me to do work which keeps my brain engaged in areas of computing where it would otherwise go stale – systems administration and programming, for example. It’s this work which pays for my various hobbies.

My email address, should you wish to get in contact, is jonathan (at) downagain (dot) com.
