We’d arranged a while ago that I would be taking Zachary last Thursday evening and keeping him during the day as his childminder wasn’t able to take him and Emma needed to work.
After the issues with the handover last week, I was nervous about what would happen.
Zachary certainly didn’t disappoint. Refusing to leave the house, throwing himself on the sofa and shouting a lot. Except this time, I picked him up and put him in the car seat.
Right on cue, he undid the seat belt. I did it up again and explained he wouldn’t be having pudding at mine if he continued.
After he’d stopped crying, I called Emma to give him a kiss and a cuddle and off we went. He was fine as soon as we were down the road.
All in all, a good result.
