Over the last few weeks, I’ve been playing a quiz, on Emma’s behalf, on Channel 4′s website. Today was the closing day; I though I’d have one last bash and ended up with the top score.
The prize?

(the bike part of that picture) How cool is that?

After not practicing yesterday due to the awful weather and my swollen testes, I went back on the unicycle this afternoon. I was able to put my full weight on the saddling without wincing and needing to adjust myself – bonus!
After a few false starts I was riding! Only short distances (4-5 ft) but certainly better than at the weekend.
I’m beginning to understand how the mechanics of unicycling works, how it feels when it’s going right and to trust my sense of balance more than I’ve ever done before. It’s great fun; you should all get one and come riding :)

After a weekend of HURT and PAIN I’ve invested in some knee, elbow and wrist pads for use with the unicycle.
I imagine they’re going to get a battering.

It arrived today, and it was built within about 20 minutes. It’s very pretty :)
It’s a little uncomfortable to sit on, the seat is quite large and I’m finding it squishing various round objects of mine.
Other than that, I’ve managed about 3 full turns of the crank before falling off, though that was only once. It’s going to take a while to get used to this new toy.
All in all, very good fun. I can see myself getting quite hurt on it though.

After years of wanting, and months of deliberating I finally decided ‘fuck it’, and ordered a unicycle
It can’t be too hard to ride, right?

Both Emma and myself started coming down with the lurgie last night. I couldn’t sleep much (kept shivering even though I was properly wrapped in a 13 tog duvet :(
Please can today be over already?

After too many months of ‘meh’, I’ve finally pulled my finger out and have been working in earnest on Zachary’s bedroom.
Over the last two weeks (in limited spare time), we’ve painted the walls, put on skirting boards, painted the radiator, fixed the seal around the window and I hope to be in a position to finish the painting tonight (another coat on the window sill and another on the radiator) before I start varnishing the skirting.
Once that’s complete, we’ll be ordering the carpet and then Zachary will be moving in. Woo.
